Description
Demonstrate the real-time capabilities of Lotus Sametime 8 running on a System i by broadcasting or conducting interactive presentations. You can show participants how they can:
- Use tools to annotate a screen capture before sending them to a chat partner -- you can now draw lines, arrows, squares, and circles.
- See display enhancements when you select "fit to screen" and "full screen mode" during Web conferences.
- Experience better performance in the Sametime Connect client
- Use the enhanced instant messaging features such as spell check, emoticons, built-in Voice over IP, and more.
- Use tabbed chat to consolidate all active chats into a single chat window.
- Convert your IM session into a video conversation using point-to-point video.
- Share information and applications with an faster and easier-to-use Web conferencing user interface including automatic reconnections.
- Connect your IBM Lotus Sametime instant messaging client with external users from the AOL®, AIM®, Google Talk, and the Yahoo! Messenger communities using IBM Lotus Sametime Gateway.
Requirements
Before you can log into the live demonstration, you need to:
- Register for a user name and password.
- After you register, download the Sametime Print Capture driver (login required) to convert your whiteboard files to the Sametime whiteboard format (FST) before you attach them for use in a meeting.
- Download Sametime Connect client.
- Sametime clients require a Web browser with Sun JVM 1.4.2, 1.5, or 1.6 for Web conferencing to function correctly. Both Microsoft Internet Explorer and Firefox are supported.
- View the client system requirements.
Cautions
- This system is for demo use only and is not to be used as a public and free e-meeting site. It is intended for those who are considering the purchase of Sametime.
- This server should never be used for confidential material, even in a demo scenario.
- This server is reset at times which purges all registered user names and scheduled meetings.
Demo announcements
- May 2008: This server has been upgraded to Sametime 8.
- Nov 2007: This server has been upgraded to Sametime 7.5.1 and Quickr/Sametime integration has not yet been enabled.
- Maintenance window:This demo server may not be available on Wednesday evenings between 5pm and 8pm (CST) or on Saturdays when needed for maintenance and backups.
